Free Blogging Tools

Blogging isn't easy. And if you are a blogger like me I am sure you know that already. Many people on the web claim that you can start earning thousands of dollars in just a month by reading their e-book or watching their video  (In Urdu means 'Halwa'). But that's not the way it is.

And I am not claiming that these 15 tools that we are going to show you today will make Blogging super easy and you will start earning dollars. Blogging takes time. You learn from mistakes and you try to rectify them. As a Blogger you learn every day. So according to me, it takes about a year or more to fully establish your blog (means you start earning the 'DOLLARS') if you are a newbie.

But there are some apps that I used when I entered the blogosphere and that helped me in Blogging a lot. So today I am going to share these apps or tools with you so that you can take advantage of them and save your precious time and effort. So without wasting any time let's start.

1. Windows Live Writer

Probably the oldest app that you will find on this list. So I hope most of you might know about it. But do you know that It supports Blogger Platform and you can publish your blog posts directly from your desktop?

There are better Writing apps available but they aren't free. But Windows Live Writer is completely free. It has all of the basic features available like you can add photos, tables, links. You can categorize your blog post and see a preview of your post before publishing or you can post it as a draft and then post it from Blogger Dashboard.

But it lacks a few things too (as it is free). You cannot change the Post Permalink or write Post Description. But you can write your posts using Live Writer and then publish it as a draft. Then you can go to Blogger Dashboard and write the Post Description and change the Permalink before publishing it.

2. Grammarly

Grammarly is a Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling checking tool. It is probably the most popular and the best Grammar checking tool (trust me, I have tested the other popular apps too).

It provides real-time Grammar check and is very accurate. It's UI is clean and simple and you can find it easy to use. But Grammarly isn't completely free and you have to buy the Premium version to unlock all features.

But still talking about the free version it helps a lot. You can correct your minor writing problems and improve your writing style. It provides explanations of the errors. And highlights the major problems. It is available for PC, Mac, and Mobile. You can also download the Grammarly Chrome Extention.

3. Headline Analyzer

Headline Analyzer is a tool that analyzes your headline and rates it out of 100. You can get an idea about how appealing your headline to the audience is by using Headline Analyzer. It checks whether your post headline is balanced or not.

A Powerful headline is a group of common, uncommon, emotional and power words. A powerful headline must contain 20-30% Common, 10-20% Uncommon, 10-15% emotional and at least one Power word.

A good headline must have a score of 70. If your headline scores more than 80 then it's brilliant. Headline Analyzer also optimizes your character length to have an easy to digest headlines. According to CoSchedule the right amount of words and characters can make a difference in how your audience reads your headlines.

4. Google Trends

Google Trends is a free tool by Google that tells what is trending in the world. You can also choose different tools. It is probably the best free tool in this regard. Google Trends analyzes the popularity of top searches in different regions. So you can check what is tending in the topic that you write about.

The main features of Google Trends include interest over time and region. You can check how the topic is performing with time. When was at its peak. And in which region or sub-region is it trending the most. You can also compare two search terms and see how they are performing. So, in short, it is a necessary tool that every blogger must use.

5. BuzzSumo

Another content idea generation tool. BuzzSumo is a tool that analyzes what content is performing the best in a topic or for your competitor. Just enter the topic or your competitor's website and it will show the best performing content.

Unlike Google Trends, BuzzSumo analyzes the content on basis of Social Media Shares rather than search popularity. So the best for you is to use it alongside Google Trends to find the best content ideas.

But BuzzSumo like Grammarly isn't free and you have to buy the premium version to unlock all features. The free version is limited and you can only view top 10 search results in the past year.

6. Quora

Quora isn't a tool but a forum. But you can use it for content idea generation tool. Quora is a forum for every topic where people ask questions or share their thoughts. Hence you can just search for your topic and get different content ideas.

But there is also another advantage of using Quora. You can use it to drive traffic to your blog. Stay active on Quora and answer questions of other people. Try to answer with deep details and get your answer upvoted. Hence you can build your profile on Quora and people will eventually come to your blog.
